Summary of Findings

With more young people going online for campaign information, the age gap in campaign news sources has widened. As was the case in 2004, older Americans are more likely than younger people to learn about the campaign from many traditional news sources, particularly local TV news, Sunday TV political programs, nightly network news, and newspapers. The internet is the only major news source that young people use for campaign news at higher rates than older Americans and this gap has more than doubled since 2004. People who rely on the internet for campaign news turn to a wide array of websites. The most frequently mentioned online news outlets are MSNBC (at 26%), CNN (23%) and Yahoo News (22%). However, numerous other outlets also receive mentions, including non-traditional sources of campaign information; 3% each say they go to the Drudge Report or MySpace, while 2% specifically mention YouTube as a site where they get campaign news.

Whole Grains Found to Stabilize Blood Sugar For up to Ten Hours

(NewsTarget) When eaten as part of a breakfast with a low glycemic index, whole grains can help control blood sugar all day long, according to a study conducted at Lund University in Sweden. A breakfast with a low glycemic index even appeared to improve alertness and mental function.

Anne Nilsson of the Unit for Applied Nutrition and Food Chemistry tested the effects of four different types of whole grains and found that in a low glycemic index breakfast, whole grains regulated the body's blood sugar for up to 10 hours. The study suggested that the same effect could be gained from eating whole grains before bed.

Nilsson found that of the four grains tested, barley had the best effect on the body. Breads demonstrated a better effect than a hot cereal such as oatmeal.

Congress: Incremental Reform, Trafficking

A USA Today/Gallup Poll conducted July 6-8, 2007 reported that over 60 percent of respondents considered illegal immigration very or extremely important (www.pollingreport.com/immigration.htm). An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll done June 8-11, 2007 found respondents evenly divided over whether immigration helps the US more than it hurts the US. However, large majorities favor new fines on employers who hire illegal immigrants and more fences and agents on the Mexico-US border. A majority of respondents opposed giving unauthorized foreigners who paid fines and satisfied other requirements legal immigrant status. At the same time, a majority also agreed that it is not realistic to deport most of the unauthorized foreigners in the US. Los Angeles police confronted a group of Spanish-speaking demonstrators in MacArthur Park calling for legalization in May 2007, resulting in casualties.

Brown 'Dithering' In Donations Row

Gordon Brown has been accused of "dithering" over the latest Labour funding controversy as embattled Cabinet minister Peter Hain clung to his political career.

Tory leader David Cameron said the Prime Minister should tell the Work and Pensions Secretary to address the issues surrounding his Labour deputy leadership campaign or face the sack.

Mr Hain is defying resignation calls after dismissing suggestions he tried to cover up donations to his failed bid as "absurd" in a statement on Saturday.

But Mr Cameron insisted questions remained over the funding arrangements, suggesting that the Public Policies Forum (PPF), a mysterious think tank via which donations were channelled, could have been a "front". "If he goes on like (Saturday) I think his time will be up," Mr Cameron said.

America`s Ultimatum

Wazir, your “allegiance to the American constitution" is something in your heart so I won't comment on it. But be careful about supporting Iranian Mullahs. These Mullahs will make you hostage unless you follow their deranged “nuke'em" slogans. And even if you don't like to be reminded of your duties to your adopted country, just don't get roped by this character from Canada. He is losing it. Peace to all and malice to none.
Dr. Qazi, United States of America

Note to allAmerica is hated by all countries because all they have done is start wars with them. Even Japan, Hiroshmi and Nagasaki got atomic bombed by these monsters. They need to be sorted out. They destroyed my country from those bombs and i hope Pakistan takes them out. You know, USA is too scared to start a war with them.
